Mac SE Alive and Kicking on Web

Something from the sentimental, historical, and cool factor side, courtesy of Wired:

Web SE is a Flash-based replica of Apple's original Mac SE running System 7, allowing users to tinker with the Mac as it was about 15 years ago. Virtually all the original System 7 elements are included, as well as extras like After Dark 2.0 and various games like Pong and Tetris. "I'm a little bit afraid they'll say, 'No, you can't do this,'" Oliver Soehlke, one of the developers, told Wired, which is running a story on the Web SE, "But I don't think they will. It's a homage.

System 7 was THE quintessential Operating Sytem back in the day when Windows was REALLY a joke. I went through college using a Mac SE and can remember playing Tetris and Ancient Art of War at Sea on it. Man, I am getting old. This makes me want to go dust off my old Mac SE in my Garage...sniff..very wistful.

Ch...Ch...Changes

As I mentioned in my recent post, I am no longer enamored with the web and thus am no longer blogging about it from a User Experience perspective.

Since there are a number of really good UXP sites out there and my change of focus, my blogs about User Experience are really not all that relevant. So, I have made some very subtle changes to the site. Namely, I have killed the User Experience category here as well as moved all my professional portfolio and resume information to another URL.

I have also started posting my personal photos here (don't even think about stealing them...they are copyrighted and I will hunt you down and kill you if you use without permission).

These changes are just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned.

Post Fence Demolition

P5020840.jpg

Well, we managed to take the fence down. The easy part was taking down the panels. Removing the fence posts was quite another story. Rhonda and I were able to remove 4 out of the 6 posts last weekend. In the last couple of days I have gotten the last two fence posts out.

This is a good thing as we are taking delivery of top soil and wood chips this weekend.

Anyways, you can see from the picture how much larger the backyard is now without a 6ft high fence cutting it in half.
