All Hallow's Eve

I didn't celebrate Halloween today...no parties, no trick-or-treating in a costume designed for a 12 year-old, no smashing pupmkins. I stayed up late doing work for the office and also worked on the site a little bit. Kinda' strange really...this is my favorite time of year...all the freaks come out of the woodwork. I think I had my fill @ work and it turned me off. They decorated the conference rooms in a Halloween contest. Seemed kinda silly at the time.

All That You Can't Leave Behind

It's finally here! U2's new album was released today. It's very reminiscent of Joshua Tree. It makes up for all the DJ sins of their last album. It has not been out more than 12 hours and comments are already flying around the web. Let the live shows and tours begin.

Web Love Fest

The Web 2000 Conference kicked off yesterday with day long intensive sessions running the gamut of all things web. The conference is a gathering of a who's who in web development and standards. I went to Chris Frye's (of Organic fame) Web Process and Project Management session. It was fantastic. They presented some really good case studies and methodologies for handling very large projects.

U2 Fever

The eagerly awaited new album from U2 is almost here...just 6 more days. I think I've listened to the teaser to "Beautiful Day" at least 100 times There's something about those early days of my youth and listening to U2 just makes me feel young again. You know that you are getting old when you cling to bands that you listened to when you were young rather than listen to the new stuff aimed @ teens. ** sigh **

Napster is a drug

When this Napster contraversy erupted I never thought I would be among the thousands of people to become addicted to it. Think about it...a limitless catalog of music at your fingertips 24/7 without having to leave the house or wait for delivery. Amazon.com eat your heart out.

The genie is out of the bottle now and its a little too late for the labels to stuff it back in. So long as the artists, (forget about the labels) the songwriters and bands get compensated Napster will be the future of music distribution. We don't need the labels to filter the music, we can do that ourselves by sampling music from emerging artists and make the choice of who we want to listen to. Imagine that.

Frustration

I never thought that getting a weblog up and running would be so frustrating. When I looked at all the great examples out there on blogger it looked so easy. All a template seemed to be made up of was some HTML and proprietary blogger tags.

Man, I was wrong. I'm no slouch coder, but three hours later I got my first customized template working the way I wanted it to. It must be the fact that its 3:20 in the morning.

Well, it works now...wew wew!
